Sign for the Bowls of Wrath
Revelation 15 begins by setting the stage for the coming “wrath of God.”
- Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. (Revelation 15:1)
In the methodology that I have applied to reading Revelation, anywhere that a sign is specifically said to accompany an event, then we should anticipate a literal fulfillment of that, rather than merely symbolically interpreting the sign. If we are to remain consistent in this methodology, then like Revelation 12, where the “sign” in heaven that represented Satan coming to earth was the Apophis asteroid, an astronomical sight should be happening that corresponds with the appearance of the angels of the bowl judgments. And wouldn’t you know it, there is a perfect candidate. According to the timeline laid out in the book, the bowl judgments commence on the evening of December 31. The first day of judgment goes from evening to morning, so January 1, 2033, is a part of the first day. On that same day, the asteroid 7 Iris will have its closest pass to the earth and will be the most visible, making it appear at its brightest in the night sky.
Note the name of this asteroid. It is named after a Greek messenger goddess, specifically one who brought supplications of people to the gods and was given the designation of the number 7 in front of it. Why? Because this goddess is associated with the rainbow! The rainbow is associated with God’s covenant with the earth (Genesis 9) and His promise to never again destroy all life. Even more significant for our purposes here is that the rainbow is made up of seven colors, thus the number 7 in front of Iris in the name of this asteroid. This fits perfectly the “sign” for the seven angels in the sky in a way that man could never have contrived. While the Antichrist and his minions are ringing in a new Gregorian year with ecstatic joy, and God’s people are waiting for the promised deliverance of His covenant, a “sign” named after a divine messenger, robed in the rainbow, appears in the sky right on cue.
The Antichrist is relishing his achievement. Christians are being slaughtered. Those who oppose him and are not Christians, but refuse to take his mark, are unable to get food. All power is his on earth, and his worshippers must think that indeed he is God. It is total spiritual, drunken ecstasy. Then God drops the hammer. The Christians are taken in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at “twilight” on 01/7/2033. Amazingly, this corresponds with 12/31/2032, the last day of the year on the Gregorian calendar, when accounting for the seven-day offset as laid out in the book! This is also the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath as it occurs on Friday evening. As the final strains of the LAST trumpet end in heaven, God’s wrath against the world’s unrepentant arrogance is poured forth while the saints enter His rest.
