Signs in the Heavens for the Final Week

Sixth Seal runs from 8/26/2030 – 7/1/2031. 

• I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. (Revelation 6:12-14)

The Sun 

The sun is described as becoming as sackcloth of hair. This is obviously referring to an eclipse. These happen all the time, so it’s not as though it would be unique to the seal, and since the text doesn’t speak of a sign that appears, we should not be necessarily looking for one. There are two major solar events within this timeframe covering the seal that darken the sun completely. 

• November 25, 2030 – Total Solar Eclipse 

• May 21, 2031 – Annular Eclipse

An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon covers the Sun’s center, leaving the Sun’s visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon. The name “annular” comes from the Latin word for ring, “annulus.” These eclipses are named for their darkest, or maximum, point even if it only lasts less than a second. If the characteristic ring of fire is visible from even just one location, the whole eclipse is called an annular solar eclipse. However, in most places and for most of the duration, an annular eclipse looks like a partial solar eclipse. This is also the case for total solar eclipses and for the rare hybrid solar eclipses which have an annular maximum point in some locations and a total maximum point in other locations. 

These are certainly not the only solar eclipses during the seven-year period under review, only those that fall under the time of the sixth seal. Another thing that could cause the sun to turn to a sackcloth is extreme volcanic activity that is unloading high amounts of sulfur dioxide into the stratosphere. This will be touched upon again when referencing the moon turning into blood. Again, it doesn’t matter, as there is nothing in the seal that tells us we should be looking for a sign at all.

Meteors 

Within the seal, the “stars of heaven” are described as falling to the earth. Meteor Showers fit this to a tee. There are several annual meteor shower events, and they span the entire year with only two long gaps of time – one between January and April, and another between June and July. 

Quadrantids Meteor Shower: The Quadrantids is an above average shower, with up to 40 meteors per hour at its peak. It is thought to be produced by dust grains left behind by an extinct comet known as 2003 EH1, which was discovered in 2003. The shower runs annually from January 1-5. 

Lyrids Meteor Shower. The Lyrids is an average shower, usually producing about 20 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by dust particles left behind by comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher, which was discovered in 1861. The shower runs annually from April 16-25. 

Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower. The Eta Aquarids is an above average shower, capable of producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. Most of the activity is seen in the Southern Hemisphere. In the Northern Hemisphere, the rate can reach about 30 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust particles left behind by comet Halley, which has been observed since ancient times. The shower runs annually from April 19 to May 28. 

Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower. The Delta Aquarids is an average shower that can produce up to 20 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by debris left behind by comets Marsden and Kracht. The shower runs annually from July 12 to August 23. This overlaps almost entirely with the Perseids Meteor Shower. 

Perseids Meteor Shower. The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by comet Swift-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1862. The Perseids are famous for producing a large number of bright meteors. The shower runs annually from July 17 to August 24. 

Draconids Meteor Shower. The Draconids is a minor meteor shower producing only about 10 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet 21P Giacobini-Zinner, which was first discovered in 1900. The Draconids is an unusual shower in that the best viewing is in the early evening instead of early morning like most other showers. The shower runs annually from October 6-10. 

Taurids Meteor Shower. The Taurids is a long-running minor meteor shower producing only about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is unusual in that it consists of two separate streams. The first is produced by dust grains left behind by Asteroid 2004 TG10. The second stream is produced by debris left behind by Comet 2P Encke. The shower runs annually from September 7 to December 10. This shower overlaps with the Leonids, and the Geminids. 

Leonids Meteor Shower. The Leonids is an average shower, producing up to 15 meteors per hour at its peak. This shower is unique in that it has a cyclonic peak about every 33 years where hundreds of meteors per hour can be seen. That last of these occurred in 2001. The Leonids is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tempel-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1865. The shower runs annually from November 6-30. 

Geminids Meteor Shower. The Geminids is the king of the meteor showers. It is considered by many to be the best shower in the heavens, producing up to 120 multicolored meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by debris left behind by an asteroid known as 3200 Phaethon, which was discovered in 1982. The shower runs annually from December 7-17. 

Ursids Meteor Shower. The Ursids is a minor meteor shower producing about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tuttle, which was first discovered in 1790. The shower runs annually from December 17-25.

Considering where the showers fall, it appears that there are nine major meteor showers (eleven total, but two overlap with others) and eight of them fall within the period of time spanning the sixth seal. The Perseids shower is the only major shower that is outside of the timeframe of the sixth seal, as it’s last day of visible showers will have ended two days prior to the suggested start time for the opening of the seal. However, if we move the sixth seal’s start time back one month, then every single meteor shower would be contained within it’s time frame. This can be done by changing the start time for Abib 1, 2029 from the assumed 4/14/2029, to the alternate start date of 3/16/2029. This would cause the Sixth Seal to be opened on 7/25/2030, rather than the proposed 8/26/2030. The end time of 6/30/2031 would remain unaffected because, when counting by prophetic time, we skip over the additional days at the end of every year to preserve the 360-day prophetic count cycle. Making this change would also affect the start time of the Fifth Seal, which would open on 9/21/2029, rather than the proposed 10/20/2029. 

Most of the seals span an amount of time in which all or most of the showers fall, which is not unusual as each seal in 315 prophetic days and can coincide at times with more than 315 Gregorian days. Again, there is nothing unique about events within the timeframe of the sixth seal. In fact, in terms of meteors, there is nothing special going on the entirety of the seven years. 

There is in fact only one real shower of significance within the family of meteor showers. The Leonids, which appear in November, can be a splendid show every 33 years. In fact, in 1833 and 1966, hundreds of thousands of meteors per hour fell. However, such an event is not expected until 2099. November of 2033, which falls after the seven-year period have come to an end, will see a grander than usual Leonid shower of hundreds of meteors per hour, but again, this is outside the presented timeframe, and not anything that fits literally with the imagery of the sixth seal.  

The Moon 

Unfortunately, there are no total, or even partial, lunar eclipses during this period. Hence, it might seem impossible to produce a blood moon as described in the sixth seal. There are three penumbral lunar eclipses, on December 9, 2030, May 6, 2031, and June 5, 2031. but those are not spectacular events, and certainly do not cause the moon to change its color. In fact, they are hardly discernable events to the naked eye. However, it is important to remember that the term “blood moon” has more to do with atmospheric elements that effect the viewing lens through which lunar eclipses are seen rather than the totality of the eclipse. There is a possibility that if there were some sort of serious volcanic eruptions during this period, caused from the earthquakes that are said to be occurring within the breaking of the sixth seal, that these eclipses could be made to become more spectacular due to the amount of dust in the upper atmosphere, but that is not something I can say for sure, as I cannot predict volcanic activity. As I have said before, there really is no reason to anticipate significant geological or cosmic activity because the language of the seal is best described allegorically as a reference to spiritual cleansing.

Other Signs Related to the Final Week. 

Patterns of Lunar and Solar Eclipses 

In the lead-up to the beginning of the timeframe carved out for Daniel’s final week, there is a trio of full lunar eclipses, which are often referred to as “blood moons”. Remember, the lunar eclipses are reddened depending on the amount of atmospheric dust particles obscuring the view. A lunar eclipse does not have to necessarily turn the moon a shade of red, and often doesn’t do so. Still, the sequence of moons suggests perhaps something of significance is occurring. What it is, who can say. 

Prophecy teachers went bananas in 2014-2015 when a tetrad of four total lunar eclipses appeared. As far as heavenly signs go, it was a truly remarkable event. Besides having the four straight so-called blood moons, which is a truly rare event, each lunar eclipse was separated by a solar eclipse and the entire tetrad was bookended by total solar eclipses, with a total solar eclipse between the four! I am not sure what happened of spiritual significance, but it seems that something did take place of great import during that time period, if we are to remain consistent in viewing signs in the heavens as portending earthly events.

How do the moon sequences of the final week compare to those of 2014-2015, and what, if anything, do they tell us in relation to our timeline? 

When we look to the skies, we see another trio of full lunar eclipses ushering in the final week, which is at least interesting to note.

There does not appear to be anything particularly interesting in the lunar and solar eclipse cycles of the first three seals, save the fact that an eclipse event occurs on the last prophetic day of each of the first two seals. Not sure if this means anything, but I thought I would reference it. However, the sequence of eclipse events does not seem particularly noteworthy. This changes when we get to the fourth seal.

It is with the fourth seal that we have the revelation of the Anti-Christ; the time he steps out of the shadows for all to see. It would make sense that something in the skies is proclaiming an unusual earthly event, and right on cue, we have a unique array of eclipses that start within the fourth seal and go all the way through the beginning of the fifth seal. You will see that once again; a trio of total lunar eclipses takes place. This time, they are separated by pairs of partial solar eclipses. Considering what is going on in the earth, I think this is significant.  

In biblical terms the moon is the lesser light that governs the night (Genesis 1:16). In astronomical terms, it doesn’t produce any light; rather, it reflects the sun’s light. Spiritually, this speaks to the reality that Christ is the one and only light, and men are to reflect Him. Without Him, they have no light. Yet, the Antichrist arises to stand in the place of Christ and assume the role of light giver to the world. How fitting that at the time of his blasphemous self-promotion and attempted ascendancy, the skies should shroud the moon in darkness three times in a row! 

Even more intriguing is that the solar eclipses that are boxed in by the lunar eclipses are all partials. Could this represent the failed attempt of the man of lawlessness to shroud the true light of God? I think it fits, and it’s at least interesting to contemplate. Also of note, the first total lunar eclipse after the Antichrist reveals himself in 2029 and the abomination of desolation is committed in the Temple will be the largest total lunar eclipse in the 21^st century. This means more of the moon’s surface will be covered by the earth’s shadow at this eclipse that at any other time. So, it’s truly a unique event. 

Sixth Seal: 8/26/30 – 6/30/31 [Alternate: 7/25/30 – 6/30/31]

Seventh Seal: 7/1/31 – 6/3/32

As has already been mentioned, it is my contention that the phenomena spoken of in the sixth seal are speaking allegorically of the spiritual shaking that is going on as the Lamb’s wrath is being poured out on the spiritual idolatry that has contaminated His Church. He is cleansing His bride once and for all. If you look at the sequence of eclipses that fall under the sixth seal and extend into the seventh seal, you find another intriguing sequence that goes along with what is happening in the spirit world remarkably well.  

We have four penumbral lunar eclipses bookended by two total solar eclipses, with an annular solar eclipse wedged right in the middle. The annular event is really a total eclipse as well, but the suns edges are showing, which creates a ring of fire effect. The penumbral events are basically non-spectacular eclipses normally, as you can’t even tell the full moon is in eclipse. If the sixth seal is a representation of the great apostasy, this fits perfectly. The false lesser light of the moon is getting brighter, and more intense, and seemingly unable to be put out, while at the same time, the greater true source of light is being seemingly extinguished! 

Closing out the final seven-year period we find once again an extraordinary sequence of eclipses. We came into the final seven weeks period with a trio of total lunar eclipses. In the exact middle of the week, we encountered another trio of lunar eclipses. When we get to the end, we encounter a tetrad of total lunar eclipses to close out this age and take us into the millennium! In fact, every eclipse of the period that covers the final day of Daniel’s week, which includes the three woes of the final three trumpets and all the vials, are total lunar eclipses!    

The first of these total lunar eclipses occurs on the First Day of Unleavened Bread on the Jewish feast cycle according to our calendar, which will be off by a full month from the actual Jewish calendar when we get to Abib 1 (Nisan 1), 2032. That in and of itself I think is significant. This blood moon also takes place at the end of the fourth Trumpet and signals the entrance into the time of the coming three woes of the last three trumpets. 

The second of the lunar eclipses falls at the end of day one of the final trumpet blast at the end of the Day of Atonement on our calendar. This too, is not insignificant to my mind. The third lands on the first Passover of the millennium. This coincides with the final day of 15 physical days allotted to the seventh vial judgement, representing a blotting out of the wicked by Christ. Again, this is not insignificant to my mind. The last of the tetrad of total lunar eclipses will be a Supermoon, meaning the moon will be at its closest to the earth in its orbit while also being in eclipse.

Asteroids

As if the sequences of lunar eclipses weren’t significant enough, there are two more celestial events that bear mentioning. Two more asteroids, aside from the 99942 Apophis asteroid, will make close passes to the earth in this final seven years. It is not so much because they bear any particular meaning or that they fall on any important day that I make mention of them here; rather, it is because of when they come and the fact that they too are relatively rare celestial events that just happen to be occurring in the final seven-day period.  

During the time of the second seal, on August 7, 2027, asteroid (137108) 1999 AN10 will make a close pass of the Earth, coming at about 240,000 miles of the Earth center. Then, on October 26, 2028, during the time of the third seal, asteroid (35396) 1997 XF11 will pass at 580,000 miles from Earth center. So, not as close, but still about 2.4 times the distance of the Earth from the Moon. Both asteroids do not come nearly as close as the Apophis asteroid, but are still incredibly close in cosmic terms, so that they can be seen with binoculars quite easily. Altogether, it means that three asteroids will appear, one right after the other, with the final one being the personification of the devil, as we have already laid out. These asteroids coming within the second and third seals respectively means that each of the seven seals has a significant celestial event occurring within its timeframe. 

Making things even more interesting is that the first two asteroids come from the Apollo group of asteroids. Apollo is the name of the classical Greek and Roman god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, and the Sun and light. Interestingly, he is considered the most Greek of all the gods. As the patron deity of Delphi, Apollo is an oracular god—in other words, the god of dark sayings! He is associated with dominion over colonists and was the giver of laws. His oracles were consulted before setting laws in a city. 

Does all this sound familiar to what the Bible literally describes about the Antichrist and what has been laid out in the timeline about how the Antichrist will get people to follow him?  Well, there’s another possible connection between Apollo and the Antichrist character that we can draw directly from the prophetic timeline. There are biblical scholars who think that the reference to Apollyon in Revelation 9:11 is a reference to the god Apollo. Even if it is referencing a fallen angelic being who is operating under the authority of the Antichrist and Satan, it fits. Apollo was a destroyer, and one who struck his enemies from afar, particularly with disease. I postulated that the fifth and sixth Trumpet could in fact be a deadly virus – the thing that ushers in the mark of the beast. The Iliad records a story in which Apollo smites the Greek army with a plague because they had sacked his temple and dishonored his priest. The cure? A sacrifice to Apollo and an act of worship! The establishment of the image of the beast and the taking of the mark of the beast coinciding with worship of the dragon and the beast comes within the seventh Trumpet immediately after the devastating disease of the previous two. Apollo seems to fit the Antichrist to a tee, and these two asteroids coming from the Apollo grouping seems to be something more than coincidence. 

Even more intriguing, as the two Apollo asteroids forbode the revealing of the Man of Lawlessness, so they proceed the Apophis asteroid, which comes from the Aten sector. Remember, Apophis is the evil serpent of darkness that tries to swallow the Sun-god Ra on his nightly passes. Aten is the Egyptian god of the Sun disc, a part of the Sun-god. An entire religion was established in ancient Egypt surrounding him in an attempt to completely replace Ra with him. Sounds a lot like the story of the fall of Lucifer as described in Scripture (Isaiah 14). 

But there’s more. In Hellenistic times, Apollo became identified among Greeks with Helios, the personification of the Sun. The first known reference to Aten the sun-disk as a deity is in the Story of Sinuhe from the 12th Dynasty. In it, the deceased king is described as rising as a god to the heavens and uniting with the sun-disk, the divine body merging with its maker. In a similar manner, the Antichrist will merge with Satan to attempt to become the god man and replace the true Sun of all Creation, Jesus Christ.

Meteor Showers of the Seventh Trumpet

I earlier laid out the different annual meteor showers that our earth experiences in its orbit around the sun. There is a significant coming attraction expected for November 2032. This would be right in the middle of the seventh trumpet. Earth passes relatively close to the Taurid stream twice per year. The events produce the Beta Taurids meteor shower from June 5 to July 18, which are not very significant usually, and then the North and South Taurids showers in late October. Often, this vast cloud of mostly pebble-sized debris offers little in terms of astronomical excitement. However, many scientists think that there are possibly large objects, leftover from a comet 2P/Encke’s disintegration, that are suspected of causing catastrophic collision events in the past and could be potentially devastating in the future. 

In 2032, our planet is predicted to pass directly through the “Taurid swarm”, a place within the stream that scientists feel could pose a major risk to Earth, with asteroids up to 1,000 feet wide having been discovered there. If a 1,000-foot asteroid hit our planet tomorrow, it would be a serious civilization-changing event. I don’t think that is going to happen given what Scripture says. However, since we will be at very close to the center of the stream, there are reasons to suggest that we need to be ready for something serious, such as very large fireballs. 

Once such fireball is thought to have exploded over Siberia on June 30, 1908, flattening 80 million trees over 2,000 square miles of forest, in what has been labeled the “Tunguska Event”. The consensus view is that this event was caused by a large meteor from within the Taurid swarm as Earth passed through it that year. Modern supercomputer calculations estimate that the airburst from the meteorite explosion had an energy range from 3 to 5 megatons of TNT. The 15-megaton estimate represents an energy about 1,000 times greater than that of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan for comparison. The shock wave from the blast would have measured 5.0 on the Richter magnitude scale. 

While it is possible that some of these larger fireballs could enter the earth in November 2032, I don’t think there will be any major cataclysmic meteors from the swarm. The major reason I bring it up here is that, along with increased fireballs, being so close to the Taurids stream will most definitely have increased shooting star activity. This is something that we should expect on our prophetic timeline. 

• “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:29,30)

Jesus told His disciples plainly that right after the great tribulation that has a timeframe of 1260 prophetic days, there would be very specific signs BEFORE both the sign of His coming, which have fixed on Rapture Day, and His appearing in the clouds. The seventh trumpet, as heard from earth, and signaling the end of the 1260 days, begins on October 17, 2032. There is a total, lunar eclipse on the following even. A little more than two weeks later, on November 3, 2032, there is a partial solar eclipse. The only remaining sign to be fulfilled would be “stars” falling from heaven. Extreme meteor shower activity would fit this perfectly. 

However, it is not just the expected Taurids swarm of November 2032 that fits the prophetic timeline. In that same year, the annual Leonids meteor shower is expected to put on a tremendous display. The source of the Leonid meteors is periodic comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle, which is on a 33-year orbit around the Sun. The subsequent major peak for the Leonids is anticipated for the first 2030s around 2032-33. Its last major shower was in 1998. That year, thousands of meteors per hour could be seen over Kuwait as the Earth passed through. 

The confluence of these two major meteor events in November 2032, right during the time of the seventh trumpet, and at the very prophetic moment before the appearance of Jesus in the sky and the rapture of the Church, seem to be a perfect prophetic match for what Jesus described in Matthew 24. 

More Signs in the Middle of the Week. 

One last set of heavenly signs that I wanted to mention have to do with the year 2029, when the Antichrist will be revealed. According to our timeline, the Antichrist will likely present himself in Jerusalem on March 26, 2029, and declare himself the world’s savior. That week will end with his faux resurrection event on April 1, 2029. If this is true, and it is his rejection by the Jews and others that sets off the 1260 days of the great tribulation the following month, then it makes sense that there would be a sign in the heavens signaling this approaching doom. It just so happens that there is a sign that perfectly fits. 

The planet Mars will be at opposition on March 25, 2029, the day before the Antichrist presents himself in Jerusalem. This means that the red planet will be at its closest approach to the earth in its orbit. Mars is the name of the Roman god of war. However, it is a military power that is necessitated in order to bring peace, rather than just destruction for its own sake. The ancient god Mars had a virgin birth motif surrounding him as told by the poet Ovid, in which his mother, the goddess Juno, conceived him apart from the god Jupiter. All of this is language that is easily recognizable in the story surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ and would thus perfectly fit the narrative of the coming Antichrist.  

We have already established that the moonlight, the lesser light, can be a heavenly stand in for the false religion or ascendant consciousness that the Antichrist is going to establish to challenge the true light of the Lord Jesus. If that is a valid symbolic representation, then I think it is significant that on March 30, 2029, the time when the Antichrist will be “dead” only to resurrect, that there will be a full moon. And not just any full moon, this will be a Supermoon, which occurs when the moon is closest to the earth in its orbit at the same time it is entering its full phase.  

Moving on into April, when the Apophis asteroid will make its close approach to the earth signifying Satan’s fall to the earthly dimension once and for all on April 13, 2029, you will discover a few other astronomical events that bear mentioning. Two days before the approach of Apophis, the planet Jupiter will be at opposition to the earth. Jupiter was Roman equivalent of the Greek god Zeus. He was lord of thunder and lightning and thus, his name literally translates to “sky father”. Unlike his Greek counterpart, Jupiter was specifically a god of political order. Considering that Satan is going to empower the Antichrist to create the one-world government, which will have been an exercise in futility to that point, I think this is beyond coincidence. Mars, Jupiter’s son, the god of war, is how this political order will be accomplished. This fits our timeline perfectly. 

We have already related the Antichrist to the myths of Apollo. Here again, we have a connection to Apollo, because Zeus was the Greek equivalent to Jupiter. The similarities to Zeus and the biblical Satan cannot be dismissed. Zeus defeated his father, Chronos, and set all his fellow gods free from his authority, proceeding to rule the earth with the help of his two brothers, Hades (god of the dead), and Poseidon (god of the sea). Revelation declares that Hades and Death are unleashed upon man during the fourth seal, which is when Satan falls to the earth. We also find that the beast comes from the sea but are told this is connected to the bottomless pit in Revelation 17. You can readily see the relationship between the coming Antichrist and his kingdom to this Grecian pantheon. Satan and his fellow fallen angelic leaders are going to be unleashing hell upon mankind through their instrument, the man of lawlessness and the astronomical signs at this time seem to be relating this truth.

According to the proffered timeline, the coming of Apophis, Satan, on “Friday the 13^th”, will signal the coming of the 1260 days, as this event happens the day before the start of Abib 1, 2029 on our prophetic timeline. Ten days later, on Abib 10, 2029, which is April 23, 2029, the abomination of desolation will occur. The Antichrist will return to Jerusalem, now under the power of Satan, and triumphantly sit where the Holy of Holies is, declaring himself God on earth. The full moon of what would be then Abib 15, 2029, or the Feast of Unleavened Bread, will be yet another Supermoon. It will in fact be the last of a trio of Supermoons that year, the first being February 28, and the second being the previously mentioned full moon of March 30. 

There is yet one more intriguing celestial event involving the moon that also occurs within the bounds of the fourth seal. The full moon of August 24, 2029 will be the fourth full moon of the Fall season, hence it will be a type of “blue moon”. Most seasons only have three full moons, but about once every three years, a season will have four. This extra full moon is called a “blue moon”. The other unique lunar event that this definition applies to occurs when a single month has two full moons in it. Having a “blue moon” occur here seems to be indicating what we are witnessing is indeed a rare, never seen event. 

To my mind, the names of the asteroids, the timing of their arrival and that of certain meteor showers, the planetary movement, the lunar and solar events, and the myths that connect them all together, are beyond just mere coincidence, as they fit perfectly with the biblical prophecies and the prophetic timeline as laid out but…I leave that for the reader to decide for themselves.
