Signs of the Day of the Lord
Blood Moon
The prophet Joel prophesied in Joel 2:31 that the moon would turn to blood and the sun become dark “before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.”
- “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. (Joel 2:30-31)
The word for “before” there, is the Hebrew word pānîm (paw-neem’). This literally means to be “on the face of, or upon something”, hence the translation. These signs then are right on top of the day, or simultaneous to the Day of the Lord. If you refer back to table 10 (pgs. 133-135), you see that the day after the seventh trumpet should be sounding on the earth, we are introduced to a Blood Moon that will appear. This moon will be a full, lunar eclipse that will entirely be seen from Israel. Hence, it will also be seen from the Antichrist kingdom. Even more incredible is that the eclipse begins right as the first day of that final trumpet sounding on earth is coming to a close. Remember, in Jewish time the days begin in the evening. So, the tenth day of the seventh month goes from the evening of October seventeenth to the evening of the eighteenth. As the last scant rays of the sun sink below the earth, in Israel, on the eighteenth, something known as astronomical twilight, the moon will begin immediately to go into eclipse! And this happens 6 days before the actual sounding of the seventh trumpet in Heaven, just as Joel prophesied.

The prophetic timeline places the seventh trumpet at the time of the Feast of Tabernacles. It sounds on the tenth day of the seventh month, which is the Day of Atonement on the prophetic feast timeline. This IS NOT in exact alignment with the Jewish calendar and when the feasts are currently celebrated. The day after where this date falls on the Gregorian calendar (10/17/2032 on the prophetic timeline) is the full moon of the Feast of Tabernacles. There is an obscure passage in Scripture that indicates this would be the LAST trumpet of any given year. It is always sounded at the new moon of the Feast of Tabernacles and is referred to by Asaph in the Psalms.
- Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, at the full moon, on our solemn feast day. (Psalm 81:3)
This horn then is sounded on the first day of the seven-day offset created by the silence in heaven that preceded the trumpets being blown in heaven—10/18/2032. On the earthly feast calendar, this horn is blown to usher in the Feast of Tabernacles. If we overlay the prophetic time scale onto the feast schedule, we see that the seven-day offset has the trumpet sounding from Heaven in the midst of the days of the Feast of Tabernacles!” The nation of Israel remembers that they were but temporary sojourners in the land of Egypt when the Lord redeemed them.
Even more profound in relation to the Rapture is that at the Feast of Tabernacles, Israel is commanded to live in temporary shelters to signify their soon-coming deliverance!
- “You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 23:42,43)
What a blessed reminder of the hope we have in Christ. Christians will need to cling to that hope in this time because the persecution from the Antichrist will be more intense than ever before. This is truly remarkable, and when you consider that the full moon that year in Israel, in which a horn on earth would normally be sounded, will be a blood moon, it is screaming at people to pay attention.
The Harvest Sign
The Feast of Tabernacles is significant considering the imagery given concerning the final harvest in Revelation 14. It is the time of the final major harvesting season in Israel. The first harvests, which corresponded with the early feasts, are that of barley and wheat. The final feast cycles correspond with the later summer fruits, such as flax, figs, and grapes, with the grape harvest usually being completed by the Feast of Tabernacles but sometimes extending beyond the feast.
If you look at the timeline that was chosen for this final day, it places the harvest times extremely late! This tracks though with what the Scripture says. The word xērainō (ksa-ri’-no) used for ripe in this passage indicates that the harvest is late. This word literally means “to become dry, to be dry, be withered,” and is used of harvests to describe something that is overripe, indicating it has been left in the field or on the vine much longer than it normally would have been. This is a perfect description of God’s grace being extended as long as possible to mankind to get every solitary person who will be saved, saved.
Even more noteworthy regarding the timeline presented, is that it places the end of the 1,290-day period, which is specific to Daniel’s people, the Jews, at the time of olive harvest—something not associated with the feast cycle of Moses. This harvest usually occurs between October and November, in the eighth and ninth months of the Jewish year. The olive tree is ALWAYS used to refer to the Jewish nation in Bible prophecy. The olive harvest is an important harvest, though seemingly disconnected from the major feasts. Significantly, the prophet Isaiah indicates that the nation of Israel will suffer an incredible slaughter of its people at the time of the end, a slaughter leaving little grapes and olives on the trees to be gleaned.
- “In that day it shall come to pass that the glory of Jacob will wane, and the fatness of his flesh grow lean. It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain and reaps the heads with his arm; it shall be as he who gathers heads of grain in the Valley of Rephaim. Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in its most fruitful branches,” says the Lord God of Israel. (Isaiah 17:4–6)
Mercury
Going back to the timeline, the 1,290-day period associated with the Jewish people ends on the ninth day of the eighth month. When considering the 7-day offset, this places that day at the sixteenth day of the eighth month. The next day is the day the flood broke loose upon the earth! Noah and his family were safely in the ark at that point and protected. In between that offset week, another sign in the sky appears in the skies of Israel as the planet Mercury, considered in Greek mythology as being the herald of the gods, will transit across the disk of the sun on 11/13/2032. Planetary transits are far rarer than eclipses of the sun by the moon. On the average, there are thirteen transits of Mercury each century. This then could be seen as a heavenly “last call” to Jews to be saved before the pending judgment.
We then have two signifiers of the sealed of the Lord, those protected from His curse, taking place within the period of the seventh trumpet. At the end of the 1,260-day period, we have the sounding of the trumpet, marking the Day of Atonement, and the 1,290-day ends on the day before the flood waters of Noah’s day came upon the land!
Meteor Showers
There is a significant meteor shower expected for November 2032. This would be right in the middle of the seventh trumpet. Earth passes relatively close to the Taurid stream twice per year. The events produce the Beta Taurids meteor shower from June 5 to July 18, which are not very significant usually, and then the North and South Taurids showers in late October. Often, this vast cloud of mostly pebble-sized debris offers little in terms of astronomical excitement.
In 2032, our planet is predicted to pass directly through the “Taurid swarm”, a place within the stream that scientists feel could pose a major risk to Earth, with asteroids up to 1,000 feet wide having been discovered there. If a 1,000-foot asteroid hit our planet tomorrow, it would be a serious civilization-changing event. I don’t think that is going to happen given what Scripture says. However, since we will be at very close to the center of the stream, there are reasons to suggest that we need to be ready for something serious, such as very large fireballs.
Once such fireball is thought to have exploded over Siberia on June 30, 1908, flattening 80 million trees over 2,000 square miles of forest, in what has been labeled the “Tunguska Event”. The consensus view is that this event was caused by a large meteor from within the Taurid swarm as Earth passed through it that year. Modern supercomputer calculations estimate that the airburst from the meteorite explosion had an energy range from 3 to 5 megatons of TNT. The 15-megaton estimate represents an energy about 1,000 times greater than that of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan for comparison. The shock wave from the blast would have measured 5.0 on the Richter magnitude scale.
While it is possible that some of these larger fireballs could enter the earth in November 2032, I don’t think there will be any major cataclysmic meteors from the swarm. The major reason I bring it up here is that, along with increased fireballs, being so close to the Taurids stream will most definitely have increased shooting star activity. This is something that we should expect on our prophetic timeline.
- “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:29,30)
Jesus told His disciples plainly that right after the great tribulation that has a timeframe of 1260 prophetic days, there would be very specific signs BEFORE the sign of His appearing in the clouds. The seventh trumpet, as heard from earth, and signaling the end of the 1260 days, begins on October 17, 2032. There is a total, lunar eclipse on the following evening. A little more than two weeks later, on November 3, 2032, there is a partial solar eclipse. The only remaining sign to be fulfilled would be “stars” falling from heaven. Extreme meteor shower activity would fit this perfectly.
The expected pass through the Taurids swarm of November 2032 fits the prophetic timeline, but there are even more signs expected for that year. The annual Leonids meteor shower is expected to put on a tremendous display during that time. The source of the Leonid meteors is periodic comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle, which is on a 33-year orbit around the Sun. The subsequent major peak for the Leonids is anticipated for the first 2030s around 2032-33. Its last major shower was in 1998. That year, thousands of meteors per hour could be seen over Kuwait as the Earth passed through.
The confluence of these two major meteor events in November 2032, right during the time of the seventh trumpet, and at the very prophetic moment before the appearance of Jesus in the sky and the rapture of the Church, seem to be a perfect prophetic match for what Jesus described in Matthew 24.
